Where is Natural Gas connected in Tamworth?
Natural Gas is now available to over 7,000 homes and businesses around Tamworth including the following new housing estates: Bourke & Wills, Forrest Hills, Hills Plains East, Sunrise, The Heights, Wentworth Ridge.
What’s involved in connecting?
Connection is easy. Register your connection with Country Energy by visiting their Customer Centre in Electra St Tamworth. We will then install the meter and all you need to do is make arrangements with your licensed Natural Gas fitter/plumber to complete the plumbing work from the meter to your appliances. Where can a Natural Gas meter be located?
As a general rule a gas meter for residential homes will be installed on the front left or right hand corner of the house and attached directly to the home. That way we can access the meter for servicing and reading purposes.
Can my existing LPG appliance/s be converted to use Natural Gas?
Yes. If your LPG appliance/s are approved Australian Gas Association appliances and comply with current emission standards, you may be able to convert to Natural Gas. A licensed Natural Gas fitter will be able to advise you on this.
Who is permitted to carry out work with Natural Gas?
Only a licensed Natural Gas fitter is allowed to carry out work on gas appliances and plumbing.
Will my property be disturbed when laying the pipe to the gas meter?
With any form of pipe laying the digging of a trench will be necessary. Every effort will be made to ensure the disturbance and impact on your property is kept to a minimum.
